Assistant Professor of Vascular Neurology

The Department of Neurology at Yale School of Medicine is accepting applications for a full-time neurologist specializing in Vascular Neurology with a firm commitment to clinical research.  Candidates must hold an MD or equivalent, be board certified or board eligible, and meet requirements for appointment at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. Fellowship training in an ACGME fellowship in vascular neurology is necessary. Further, applicants must meet the criteria for medical licensure in the State of Connecticut.  The essential duties for this position include: 1) developing a clinical research program with anticipated long-term academic development, 2) participating in ongoing clinical research activities within the stroke and neurocritical care divisions and StrokeNet program, 3) providing acute stroke evaluations for patients at Yale New Haven Hospital and through the Yale Telestroke Program, 4) providing inpatient care to the dedicated stroke service at Yale New Haven Hospital, 5) providing specialized stroke clinics through Yale Medicine, and 6) teaching residents, fellows, and medical students.  It is anticipated that this position will be 50% clinical and 50% clinical research and will be located in New Haven, CT. 

Qualifications

Must hold an MD or equivalent.

Must be board certified or board eligible.  

Must meet requirements for appointment at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. 

Must be trained in an ACGME accredited Vascular Neurology fellowship program.

Must meet the criteria for medical licensure in the State of Connecticut. 

Must have a strong interest in clinical research.
