Position Summary

This is a grant funded opportunity with a specific focus on nerve injury and neurotrophic keratopathy working with the Plastic Surgery Division and Indiana Center for Regenerative Medicine and Engineering.
The Laboratory of Dr. Gregory Borschel, along with the Indiana Center for Regenerative Medicine and Engineering, in the Department of Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated person to work on animal models of neurotrophic keratopathy and nerve injury, with a focus on molecular neuroscience. Applicant will be hired as an Assistant Research Professor.

Basic Qualifications

Basic Quals:
• Must have a PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in a science related field
• Must have experience with animal handling
• Must have experience Cell culture, RNA and Protein extraction, PCR
• Must be willing to work with animals and human subjects
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• Must be able to work independently or with very limited supervision
• Must be able to multitask and show interest in contributing to several projects ongoing in the lab
• A desire to learn new techniques, write manuscripts/reports/protocols, present data at meetings and conferences, train and mentor students
