The Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education, College of Agricultural Sciences, seeks applicants for a non-tenure track, Assistant Teaching Professor position assigned to the online Community and Economic Development (CEDEV) professional MPS program. This is a 48-week academic year appointment with 100% teaching responsibilities in a fixed-term multi-year (3 year) contract with the opportunity and expectation for continued renewal. The primary responsibility will be teaching 7 courses in the CEDEV program, including regular distance courses, research application and practice courses, and directed supervision. Further responsibilities include the strategic management of the program, supervision and evaluation of staff, serving as a liaison for other campus units (e.g., World Campus, Graduate School), and coordination of the curriculum and instructors. The successful candidate will also be expected to be a main advisor for several CEDEV students and coordinate other faculty advisors. Qualifications: A doctoral degree with relevant coursework in community or economic development or a related social science area is required. Experience in online teaching is also required. The successful candidate must have completed all degree requirements by the appointment date. Applicants should demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams. An ability to engage professionally with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students is required. Salary: Competitive, commensurate with background and experience.
