Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

Applications are invited for non-tenure track Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor positions.  The individuals will have teaching responsibilities in the undergraduate pharmacy programs.  These are full-time or part-time renewable appointments with primarily teaching and service responsibilities.  Clinical practice and scholarly activities are strongly encouraged. Experience in one of the following areas is preferable: primary care, ambulatory care, internal medicine, pediatrics, and/or personalized medicine/pharmacogenomics.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching in pharmacotherapy and/or practice skills courses, including coordinating and delivery of course material; assuring the course work meets defined educational outcomes and accreditation standards; and committee and other service work to the Faculty and the profession.

The successful candidate(s) will have knowledge of current clinical pharmacy practice. Preference will be given to candidates with an advanced degree in pharmacy such as a post-baccalaureate PharmD and/or a Masters or PhD degree. Residency or post-doctoral experience is an asset. Applicants must be licensed, or eligible for licensure, by the Alberta College of Pharmacy. The successful candidate will also possess a record of demonstrated professional accomplishment, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences offers one of the strongest pharmacy degree programs in Canada. The Faculty annually admits 130 student pharmacists to the undergraduate pharmacy program and up to 30 to the PharmD for Practicing Pharmacists program per year, and maintains approximately 60 graduate students on an annual basis. The province of Alberta offers the most unique pharmacy practice environment in North America where pharmacists can prescribe medications, order laboratory tests, provide immunizations, and receive reimbursement for patient care services.

Academic rank and salary will be based on the incumbent’s qualifications, experience, and achievements, and in accordance with the Academic Teaching Staff (ATS) Agreement.  These full- or part-time positions may require service over 8, 10, or 12 month periods and offer a comprehensive benefits package found at:
