You will actively engage in teaching, research and curriculum development in the Policing and Security Program. Rabdan Academy encourages applicants with one or more of the following: teaching experience in forensic science identification, teaching experience in a police education program, extensive operational policing including but not limited to – police leadership/management, forensics, crime scene investigation, road/traffic policing, criminal justice, artificial intelligence, criminal profiling.

Appointees will be responsible for teaching a range of subjects in the Diploma and Bachelor of Policing and Security Science; Masters in Policing and Security Leadership. Appointees will be encouraged to pursue research opportunities in the UAE policing and security fields.

Position Description:

1. General Details

3. Job Purpose

The Ass. Professor is responsible for contributing to academic teaching / administration as per the norms set by the Academy. They will assist the policing faculty in the delivery of Policing and Security courses. This position has a Forensic Science Identification teaching focus.


4. Key Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities


Operational Responsibilities

• Teach at undergraduate and graduate level in areas allocated by the Head of Department

• Assist in the design and delivery of the curriculum for Policing and Security with a focus on the theory and practice of forensic science in policing

• Transfer knowledge including practical skills, methods and techniques to colleagues relating to Policing and Security with a focus on forensic crime scene investigation including forensic identification practices (documentation, photography and fingerprints)

• Supervise student practical exercises and application of forensic identification processes, protocols and practice

Supervise student projects, field trips and, where appropriate, placements

• Develop, and assess work and examinations and provide feedback to students

• Participate in student support on academic and career development matters

• Ensure adherence to, and effective operation of quality assurance and enhancement policies and process

• Assist other professors for the delivery of knowledge by creating appropriate presentations and teaching materials in the Policing and Security Program

• Adhere to the Academy’s information security policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly

• Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities, as and when needed

• Perform any other tasks assigned by Professors, Program Chair and top management

8. Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Doctorate (PhD) in a cognate field: policing and / or criminal justice

9. Experience

Required Experience

  • A minimum of five years of supervisory / administrative policing / criminal justice experience in a law enforcement organization is considered an asset

  • Significant operational experience in policing, justice and / or crime scenes is considered an asset

  • A proven record of publication and definable research projects and program

  • Adaptability, and appropriate cultural awareness for working in the United Arab Emirates

Monthly Average salary: 11,500US dollars per month ( Negotiable if current earning is above this amount ) our salaries are government TAX FREE 0%
