Description

The Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, and the Division of Cardiology at Women’s College Hospital (WCH) invite applications for a full-time academic cardiologist at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The position also includes eligibility for an appointment as Scientist at the Women’s College Research and Innovation Institute.
Anticipated start date: July 1, 2026, or a mutually agreeable date.

The successful candidate will lead the heart function/failure program at WCH, providing ambulatory and inpatient care in general cardiology, heart failure, and echocardiography. They will spend approximately 75% of time in clinical outcomes research and 25% in clinical duties including WCH ambulatory clinics, echocardiography lab, and inpatient service at an affiliated hospital (4–6 weeks annually).


Qualifications

  • MD degree with FRCPC (or equivalent) in Cardiology

  • Advanced fellowship training in Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology and ACC/AHA/ASE Level III Echocardiography

  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario

  • Advanced research training (MPH, MSc, PhD, or equivalent) with expertise in cardiovascular outcomes research

  • Strong track record in clinical care, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Proven capacity in leading clinical and research teams

  • Strong communication and mentorship abilities

  • Alignment with Women’s College Hospital’s strategic priorities:

Compensation

Salary and contractual arrangements will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Remuneration is based on experience, skills, education, and training.
