General Description

The Department of Political Science at Johns Hopkins University invites applications for a position in international relations or comparative politics with a focus on China. We are especially interested in scholars who examine China's role in the world through the lens of international or comparative political economy.

The Department prides itself on its ability to foster innovative research and forge cross-field synergies that reach beyond the traditional divides of our discipline. We are a methodologically diverse and pluralistic department, and we encourage applications from those trained in a variety of research methods.

Applicants at the level of assistant or associate professor are welcome. In addition to a cover letter, all applicants should submit a research statement, description of teaching philosophy, a writing sample, and curriculum vitae. In addition, candidates applying at the level of assistant professor should send three letters of recommendation via Interfolio. Applicants at the level of associate professor, please provide the names of three references. 

Review of applications will begin on October 1, 2019 and continue until the position is filled. The position will commence on July 1, 2020.
