Salary
£40927 to £63668 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The University of Nottingham seeks applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Engineering specialising in research and teaching associated with Electro-Mechanical devices and systems. This role is offered as research & teaching where the person appointed would develop and deliver relevant research programs, complementing and expanding existing capability, and also play a role in developing the teaching curriculum in subjects associated with Electromechanical devices and systems.

Applications are welcome from individuals with teaching/research experience in any related areas of engineering. Applications are particularly welcome from individuals with academic research and teaching or industrial experience with engineering applications of electromechanical systems. Desirable skills include the design and manufacture of electromechanical/mechatronic devices, coding and programming related to the control of electromechanical devices and systems.  An ability to apply such skills in an innovative fashion to devise and run both curricular and extra-curricular student activities to enhance and enrich student learning and engagement would also be an advantage.

The role holder will take responsibility for delivering high quality teaching and will contribute to the planning, design, development and delivery of materials on our growing undergraduate taught programmes in mechanical, materials, manufacturing and aerospace engineering.  The role will include the development of course curricula and teaching materials as required.

The post holder may also be required to make a significant contribution to the department and/or faculty via leadership and/or administrative management and/or co-ordination of specific initiatives.

This role is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours). Job share arrangements may be considered.
