Position Overview

The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a full-time faculty position specializing in Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence. Candidates should have expertise in AI-related philosophical topics and be able to pursue an active research program while teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applications from candidates working across multiple philosophical subfields are encouraged.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a vigorous research program in philosophy with a focus on AI.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in philosophy.

• Participate fully in departmental activities, including service and curriculum development.

Qualifications

Required:

• Ph.D. (or equivalent terminal degree) in Philosophy or a closely related field by the start date.

• Strong potential for research and scholarship in AI and philosophy.

Preferred / Encouraged:

• Work spanning more than one area of specialization within philosophy.

Area of Competence (AOC): Open. Candidates are not restricted to specific secondary areas.
