The Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen (UCPH) seeks excellent candidates for an Tenure-Track Assistant or Associate Professorship in Work and Organisational Psychology.
The position is a full-time position and is available from 1st August 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Research at the Department of Psychology is of high international and ethical standards – and is characterized by a fundamental curiosity to unravel the nature of psychological phenomena. Duties and Responsibilities of the position
The Work and Organisational Psychology group at the Department of Psychology conducts research across organisational psychology (leadership and leadership development, organisational change and processes, entrepreneurship and SMEs), work psychology (psychosocial work environment, stress and mental health, negative relations at work, work attendance behaviour, ageing at work) and personnel psychology (business ethics, personnel selection and development). We expect the applicant to conduct and develop their research in synergy with the ongoing work within the Work and Organisational Psychology group.
The overall duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate are to contribute to the scholarship and intellectual life of the Department by conducting world-class research and teaching. The duties of an Associate Professor also encompass administrative responsibilities and academic leadership.
With regards to research, we particularly welcome candidates with an interest for and experience with applied research. We welcome candidates with competencies in quantitative and qualitative methodologies and value an interdisciplinary approach to the study of psychological phenomena. It is of particular importance that the candidate has the capacity for and interest in doing research at the intersection between organisational and work psychology, thereby bridging the existing research currently undertaken at the department. Related to the position is an obligation to publish and communicate research.
With regards to teaching, the successful candidate is expected to participate on a daily basis in the teaching activities at the department (e.g., seminars, lectures, workshops, examination, etc.), to contribute to the study and learning environments, as well as to supervise students. We especially welcome candidates with experience in teaching that bridges theory and practice, e.g., case-based teaching.
Your Competencies and Opportunities
For the specific position in Work and Organisational Psychology at the Department of Psychology, the candidate must hold a master’s degree in psychology, or equivalent qualifications, and a PhD degree in psychology, or equivalent qualifications.
The successful candidate must have an excellent track record of successfully doing research and research-based teaching within the core field of Work and Organisational Psychology. Furthermore, it is important that the candidate demonstrates societal impact, external funding, organisational contribution, and academic leadership. The successful candidate has strong interpersonal skills and an aptitude for working collaboratively with colleagues in planning and delivering teaching, in research projects, and in the execution of administrative duties.Furthermore, the candidate must demonstrate a commitment to student learning, supporting student welfare and enhancing the student experience.
Introduction - relevant only for Tenure-Track Assistant Professorship
A Tenure-Track Assistant Professorship is a six-year, fixed-term academic position involving both research and teaching. The successful candidate post will be obliged to complete a teacher-training course designed especially for Assistant Professors, and will be expected to be able to take part in all the activities of the Department, including examinations and administration.
Approximately six months before the end of the six-year period as Assistant Professor, a committee set up by the Dean will assess whether the Assistant Professor can be considered for promotion to a tenured position as Associate Professor.
