We are seeking candidates who will strengthen and complement the scientific profile of the Molecular and Integrative Biosciences Research Programme.
Key requirements and expectations:
Strong track record for career stage in genetics, committed to excellence in research and teaching
Research focus on, or relevance to, human genetics and genomics
Ability to combine advanced experimental and analytical approaches (considered an asset)
Build and lead an independent research group conducting innovative research in genetics
Acquire external research funding
Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students
Teaching on Bachelor’s and Master’s courses related to the field
Active participation in long-term curriculum development, especially in:
Commitment to sustainable, diverse and inclusive environment for students and colleagues
The position is based at Viikki Campus. A secondary affiliation with the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM) is possible, depending on research interests, providing access to unique human genetic databases and a vibrant human genetics research community.
Doctoral degree
Internationally recognized scholarly qualifications
Experience in supervising scientific research
Vision and experience in high-quality research-based teaching and thesis supervision
Documented international cooperation in the research field

Ability to supervise and mentor doctoral and postdoctoral researchers
Teaching skills necessary for the position
Scientific publications and their significance

International research experience and roles in international organizations

Assistant/Associate Professor: €60,000 – €72,000 (annual gross)
Professor: €72,000 – €92,000 (annual gross)
