The Departments of Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto is seeking a qualified academic hematologist with expertise in inherited and acquired bleeding disorders and classical and complex hematology otherwise.
The successful candidate must be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant, Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The candidate will have an academic position description of Clinician Teacher (CT), Clinician Educator (CE), Clinician Investigator, or Clinician in Quality and Innovation (CQI).
The expected start date of the position is July 1, 2026, or shortly thereafter.
The successful candidate will:
Hold an MD degree
Have, or be eligible for, certification in Hematology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
Be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
Preferably, the successful candidate will also have or be working towards a graduate degree relevant to their area of specialization.
The successful candidate will participate in the educational programs in Hematology at St. Michael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto and collaborate in clinical research and quality improvement programs.

The Division currently consists of 14 full-time hematologists and oncologists, has an international reputation in clinical research, education and quality improvement, and supports busy in-patient and out-patient services.
This position will:
Support current in- and out-patient demands in non-malignant classical-complex hematology
Support the Hematology-Oncology Clinical Research Group (HOCRG)
The candidate will have clinical expertise in bleeding disorders, as well as a proven academic record of excellence in research, quality improvement, or education.
The successful candidate will report to the Head, Division of Hematology/Oncology at St. Michael’s Hospital.
Estimated remuneration will be commensurate with academic rank, qualifications and experience.
