The Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, and the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre invite applications for an academic Infectious Diseases position. The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto with a Clinician Teacher (CT) position description at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The expected start date is July 1, 2026, or at a mutually agreeable later date.
The successful candidate will have clinical expertise in the assessment and management of Infectious Diseases. For the Clinician Teacher role, the applicant must demonstrate advanced training and a track record of teaching accomplishments. Teaching excellence will be evaluated through strong interest in education, quality of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, formal training in teaching methodology, teaching awards, leadership as a clinical educator, and other relevant experience.
The successful applicant will join the Division of Infectious Diseases at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, providing inpatient consultation services for complex patient populations across medical, surgical, oncology, and trauma/critical care services.
Responsibilities include:
Approximately 12–16 weeks per year of inpatient Infectious Diseases service coverage
At least one half-day per week in the General ID and Complex Outpatient Antibiotic Treatment (COPAT) Clinic
Opportunity to run additional longitudinal clinics, including ID, COPAT, and HIV clinics
Candidates must:
Hold an MD degree
Possess post-graduate certification in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or international equivalent
Have, or be eligible for, licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
Estimated annual remuneration: $300,000–$350,000 (fee-for-service estimate), commensurate with academic rank, experience, and patient volume
Eligibility for membership in the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association, through which clinical billings and benefits are administered
