Description

The Department of Medicine, University of Toronto, and the Division of Medical Oncology and Hematology at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, University Health Network (UHN) and Sinai Health, invite applications for five (5) full-time Academic Medical Oncologist positions.

We are seeking energetic, collaborative, and innovative physicians with expertise in Medical Oncology, with primary clinical interests in one or more of the following programs:

  • Sarcoma

  • Thoracic Oncology

  • Gynecologic (Gyne) Medical Oncology

  • Endocrine Oncology

  • Head and Neck Oncology

  • Cancer of Unknown Primary

Flexibility to include an additional tumour site as a minor clinical interest may be considered. The anticipated start date is April 1, 2026, or shortly thereafter.


Role and Responsibilities

Successful applicants will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in patient care, academic scholarship, and education. Appointees will:

  • Join multidisciplinary disease-site teams within a comprehensive cancer centre

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in clinical genomics, clinical trials, translational research, and supportive care

  • Participate in research (clinical, translational, or basic)

  • Teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels

Depending on qualifications and interests, candidates will be appointed under one of the following University of Toronto academic position descriptions:

  • Clinician Investigator

  • Clinician Teacher

  • Clinician Quality & Innovation


Research and Clinical Environment

The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and Sinai Health are among the world’s leading comprehensive cancer programs. Strengths include:

Qualifications

The successful candidate must:

  • Hold an MD degree

  • Be certified or eligible for certification in Medical Oncology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada

  • Be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)

  • Demonstrate academic excellence appropriate for appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto

  • Exhibit a strong record of clinical expertise, collaboration, and academic productivity

For Clinician Teacher appointments, excellence will be demonstrated by teaching innovation, curriculum development, and/or teaching awards.

For Clinician Investigator appointments, excellence will be demonstrated through peer-reviewed funding, high-impact publications, and recognized academic contributions.


Rank, Salary, and Terms

Academic rank, salary, and contractual arrangements will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A highly competitive remuneration package is available.
