The Department of Pathology (http://pathology.ucsd.edu) at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine UCSD is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and seeks Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientists.
UCSD recently launched the Center for Perinatal Discovery, primarily a collaboration between the Departments of Pathology, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Reproductive Sciences, and Pediatrics. The overarching mission of the Center is to understand the effects of maternal health on pregnancy, and the effects of pregnancy exposures and outcomes on maternal and offspring health throughout the lifespan.
The successful candidates will be a part of the Center for Perinatal Discovery and will have the opportunity to be involved in multiple collaborations across laboratories within the Center. The successful candidates will be expected to be involved in small and large collaborative projects and supervise students and postdoctoral fellows. The successful candidates will also be expected to make original and significant contributions to a research program in a discipline relevant to stem cell, reproductive, and/or perinatal biology, and participate in all aspects of laboratory research, including experimental design, data analysis, and manuscript and grant writing.
Appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientist level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

Candidates must hold an MD or equivalent, an MD/PhD, or PhD in stem cell, reproductive biology-related, or biological sciences-related fields.
Candidates with knowledge, work/training experience, and/or publications in utilizing human stem cells and placental tissues are preferred.
