The Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin seeks a tenure-track, open-rank faculty member in the Quantitative Methods program in the area of Applied Data Analytics.
The faculty member will conduct research related to applied data analytic techniques used to improve educational and health outcomes, including:
Data mining
Predictive modeling
Text analytics
The Quantitative Methods program provides training in modern statistical and psychometric methods to prepare graduates to advance methodological research and apply these methods to address educational, health, and social science research questions.

Required:
Ph.D. in Data Science, Data Analytics, Quantitative Methods, Quantitative Psychology, Statistics, Applied Statistics, or a closely related field by July 31, 2026
Preferred / Desired:
Strong potential or proven record in scholarly leadership and teaching in Applied Data Analytics, including:
Data mining
Text analytics (e.g., NLP, sentiment analysis, topic modeling)
Dynamic data analytics (e.g., longitudinal or time-series analysis)
Social network analysis
Data ethics and management
Strong potential or proven record in securing extramural research funding
Experience or capacity to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds
