The Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery at Women’s College Hospital (WCH) invites applications for an Academic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon specializing in transition-related chest (top) surgery and post-mastectomy breast reconstruction.
The successful candidate will play a key role in two interdisciplinary surgical programs at WCH:
Transition-Related Surgery (TRS) Program, providing gender-affirming chest wall surgery
Breast Cancer Program, with a focus on breast reconstruction following mastectomy
The appointee will be based at Women’s College Hospital, hold a full academic appointment in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto, and maintain a cross-appointment with the University Health Network.
Deliver high-quality surgical care in transition-related chest surgery and breast reconstruction
Participate in the multidisciplinary TRS team (plastic surgery, urology, physiotherapy, social work, nursing)
Contribute to leadership initiatives aimed at increasing provincial access to transition-related surgery
Establish and maintain an active scholarly program aligned with clinical expertise
Demonstrate excellence in teaching and research
Participate in the Women’s College Hospital Department of Surgery practice plan
Fellowship training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Eligibility for:
Appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto
Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
Eligibility for appointment to the Women’s College Hospital Research Institute
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Master’s or PhD degree in research, education, or management
Estimated salary range: CAD $250,000 – $500,000
(Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and dependent on fee-for-service clinical billing.)
