The School of Nursing, Faculty of Health, York University invites highly qualified candidates to apply for a professorial stream tenure-track appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level. The successful candidate will be appointed to the position of Associate Director, Undergraduate Education, with Expertise in Health Care Systems and Services, to commence July 1, 2021. The position of Associate Director is for a 3-year term with the possibility of renewal. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.

The successful candidate will join one of Canadas largest, most comprehensive, top ranked, research focused Schools of Nursing in Canada. The School currently offers three pathways toward a Bachelors degree in Nursing (second entry, direct entry, internationally educated), as well as a Masters in Nursing, a Masters for preparation as a Nurse Practitioner, and a PhD in nursing. The School is in the midst of significant growth and renewal and enjoys partnerships with world leading healthcare institutions in both Ontario and around the world.

Candidates must (1) be registered in good standing or eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario; (2) have a baccalaureate degree in Nursing; (3) have a Masters degree in Nursing or a related field (Nursing preferred), and (4) have a PhD in Nursing (preferred) or PhD equivalent (i.e. Ed.D) with a substantial record of professional experience in Health Care Systems and Services.

The successful candidate should bring experience in interprofessional education, curriculum development and evaluation, and academic leadership. The Associate Director is expected to lead operational planning and implementation of undergraduate programs, promote and support quality teaching and student success, and work collaboratively with Undergraduate Program Directors/Coordinator, the Director of the School of Nursing, and consulting with the Associate Deans and the Dean of the Faculty of Health as needed. The candidate will play a critical role in implementing a new 4-year delivery model for the undergraduate program. In addition, the candidate should have an integrated knowledge translation approach in their program of research focused on patients and health care delivery.

The successful candidate will be expected to engage in outstanding, innovative, and, as appropriate, externally funded research at the highest level.

Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence of a recognized international calibre as demonstrated in: the research statement; a record of publications (or forthcoming publications) with significant journals in the field; presentations at major conferences; awards and accolades; and strong recommendations from referees of high standing.

The position will involve graduate teaching and supervision, as well as undergraduate teaching and the successful candidate must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Evidence of excellence in teaching will be provided through: the teaching statement; teaching accomplishments and pedagogical innovations including in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning; teaching evaluations; and strong letters of reference.
