Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Learning and Leadership (DLL) has an international reputation for its work in leadership, early years education, and primary education with the aim to contribute new ideas and knowledge that have a tangible positive impact on children; teachers/educators; leaders; the academic community; policy makers; and education as discipline.

The main purpose of the Associate Professor role is to contribute to outstanding research, engagement and impact; and make a full contribution as an academic in the Department of Learning and Leadership, and to the wider Institute of Education and UCL.   

For the appropriately qualified candidate there will be the opportunity for 0.4 FTE workload devoted to research as Co-Director of the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Pedagogy (HHCP). 

This post is available from 1 September 2019. 

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will have made an outstanding contribution to knowledge in primary education and/or early years education, evident in an international reputation for research and evidence of sustained success in obtaining research grants, and clear plans for future research grant applications. They will have strong understanding of impact and engagement with teachers and other education professionals.
