Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Geography at UCL invites applications for the position of Lecturer/ Associate Professor in Social and Cultural Geography. The department encourages applications from those trained in relevant fields including Human Geography, Social Anthropology and Sociology. We would particularly welcome applicants with research interests in fields such as migration, gender and geographies of religion. The post will be aligned with the department’s Culture and Migration Research Group.

The post holder will undertake and publish internationally excellent research an deliver high-quality teaching, assessment and feedback at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Key Requirements
Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant field and will be evaluated on the originality, quality and significance of their research and how it complements departmental interests. They must also demonstrate an aptitude for teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The post-holder will be expected to contribute to teaching on the MSc in Global Migration among other teaching duties. The department welcomes applicants who have a track record of knowledge exchange, public engagement and policy relevance.
