About the role

The closingThe applicationThe UCL School of Management is looking to appoint a full-time Associate Professor (Teaching) within the accounting/finance arena, drawing upon financial accounting and/or management accounting and/or financial management, and/or related fields. More specifically, the School is seeking for a postholder with a record of accomplishments in teaching accounting/finance to business and management students.

Depending upon a successful applicant’s profile, opportunities exist to engage with in-person and/or online modules at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels through delivery and assessment.

Please note that:

  • This is a post on the Teaching track/Education and is not an academic research track post.
  • A doctorate in the area of accounting/finance or a related field is
  • Application should consist of 1-page cover letter/personal statement and a CV. Please do not attach any articles or additional documents such as degree certificates.
  • Within the 1-page cover letter/personal statement applicants should highlight experience and achievements in the area of education and the cognate area of accounting/finance.
  • The post is available from 1st May 2025 or as per negotiation.

Closing date for applications is 17:00 hours (5 pm) UK time on Friday 10 January 2025.

In-person interviews will be held on Wednesday 29 January 2025 at One Canada Square in Canary Wharf.

Salary UCL Grade 9 £66,711 to £72,370 including London Allowance.

About you

The successful candidate will need to evidence the following in their application:

  • Significant experience of teaching within the accounting/finance arena to undergraduates and postgraduate students
  • Excellent teaching evaluations
  • A relevant PhD or equivalent Doctorate in a field related to business analytics is required
  • Ability to relate relevant theoretical concepts in the accounting/finance arena to the context of business and management practice
  • Ability to teach students or delegates from a wide range of disciplines and cultural backgrounds
