The Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto invites applications for up to two full-time tenure stream positions in Strategic Management. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.

Applicants must have earned a PhD in Management or a cognate discipline with a focus on strategic management (e.g., economics, sociology), and demonstrate excellence in research and teaching. Candidates should have an established international reputation and be able to sustain and lead innovative, independent research, maintaining an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
Evidence of research excellence may include:
Sustained high-impact contributions and publications in top-ranked, field-relevant academic journals in strategy, sociology, or economics (e.g., Academy of Management Journal/Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Strategic Management Journal, Management Science, Organization Science, American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Econometrica, Journal of Political Economy, American Journal of Sociology, Review of Economic Studies, and journals of similar caliber)
Submitted research statement
Presentations at major conferences
Awards and accolades
An active research pipeline
Other contributions enhancing the visibility and prominence of the discipline
Strong endorsements from referees
Applicants must demonstrate excellence in teaching, including:
Ability to integrate theory and practice
Strong communication and presentation skills
Willingness to supervise graduate students
Mastery of subject area
Experience teaching both undergraduate and graduate students in a management program is required.
Evidence of teaching excellence will be demonstrated through:
Teaching accomplishments
Strong letters of reference
Teaching dossier (teaching statement, sample course materials, teaching evaluations)
For short-listed candidates, a strong on-campus seminar presentation
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The salary range exceeds CAD $200,000 per annum.
