Job Description
The Department of Media and Creative Industries at UAEU is seeking an accomplished scholar and educator in Journalism and Mass Communication/Media Studies with specialization in Digital Journalism. Candidate must demonstrate expertise in current convergent newsroom practices and understanding of the transformations going on in journalism. We seek a candidate with professional experience in Journalism including news writing and reporting, multi-media and data journalism. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels, a demonstrable research capability that will enable the candidate develop and sustain an internally and/or externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise, publish his/her research findings in refereed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University. The application package should include a cover letter, a detailed resume, copies of certificates, a brief description of current/future research activities, teaching philosophy, and courses taught. English is the language of instruction and communication. Screening of applications will continue until the position is filled.
Minimum Qualification
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in the applicable field. The ability to teach undergraduate courses is a must. Industrial and professional experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualification
Applicant must have an earned earned PhD in relevant field.
Excpected Skills
The position is at Associate Professor level. In addition to educational qualification of earned PhD, the applicant must possess industry experience in journalism and competence to deliver lectures on multimedia and data journalism as well as have familiarity with use of AI in the newsroom.
