Associate Professor / Assistant Professor (Ref. No.: 21001GG)


Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee shall mainly be responsible for the following:


  • Undertaking course planning, development, coordination and delivery (including classroom, laboratory class and field-based teaching), and where necessary, programme administration in related disciplines at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
  • Undertaking / engaging in academic research and academic-industrial collaboration;
  • Engaging in scholarly and student development activities; and
  • Participating in School / University activities and administration.



Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:


  • An earned doctorate in Building Services Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Data Science, Electronic Engineering, Educational Technology, Environmental Science, Information Technology, Life Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Testing and Certification, or a related discipline;
  • Considerable relevant teaching / professional experience including programme development and course administration;
  • High level of competence in teaching;
  • Good record of research and peer-reviewed scholarly publications;
  • Accomplishment in obtaining external competitive research grants;
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to use English as the medium of instruction; and
  • Good record of involvement in professional and community activities are required.


Candidates with less relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Professor.


Compensation Package

Competitive compensation package including basic salary, composite cash allowance, end-of-contract gratuity and discretionary incentive (if any) will be offered to the right candidate.  Fringe benefits such as generous annual leave, staff learning and development sponsorship, medical & dental benefits and life insurance coverage will also be provided.
