The Department of Neurology at Dell Medical School of The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a full-time Clinical Neuropsychologist at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to join the Mulva Clinic of the Neurosciences Comprehensive Memory Center team. Successful applicants would provide neuropsychological evaluation, consultation, rehabilitation, and relevant education to individuals with cognitive impairment. The successful candidate will have experience with neurology populations, with an emphasis on dementia and neurodegenerative disorders, including identifying neurological, psychological, emotional, behavioral, and/or medical issues impacting symptom presentation. The candidate will supervise psychometricians and trainees at the pre-doctoral and post-doctoral level and will have the opportunity to work on clinical trials and clinical research projects ongoing in the institution.

The Assistant or Associate Professor will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team focused on designing and implementing an integrated program for individuals with neurodegenerative diseases and their family members. The team includes neurologists, geriatric psychiatrists, neuropsychologists, psychometricians, social workers, physician extenders, and medical assistants.

 Essential Functions:

  • Contribute to the ongoing design and implementation of neuropsychological services within the Comprehensive Memory Center at UT Health Austin Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences
  • Train and mentor students, residents and fellows on new models of care and clinical practice.
  • Develop and foster an atmosphere of scientific and academic inquiry in conjunction with trainees and researchers within the multidisciplinary team and Department of Neurology
  • Collaborate with other schools at The University of Texas at Austin and across The University of Texas system on multidisciplinary, value-based care models
  • Actively participate in the Department of Neurology and abide by all required Departmental policies.


Required qualifications:

  • Eligible for appointment as an assistant or associate professor
  • PhD or PsyD from an APA-accredited program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or related field
  • Current state licensure as required, or license-eligible
  • Expertise in working with adult and geriatric populations
  • Completion of 2 years of postdoctoral training in clinical neuropsychology
  • Board certified in clinical neuropsychology or board eligible

Preferred qualifications:

  • Five years of postdoctoral experience in neuropsychology, preferably with a dementia population
  • Experience delivering care through a multidisciplinary team
  • Record of leadership and achievement
