Clinical Research Fellow – Multiple Sclerosis

The Menzies Institute for Medical Research is one of Australia’s leading health and medical research institutes performing internationally significant medical research leading to health, longer and better lives for Tasmanians.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly motivated medical practitioner of good standing to join an internationally recognised, multi-disciplinary team working to improve health and quality of life outcomes for people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). You will work closely with key stakeholders on a variety of commercial and investigator led clinical trials and research projects towards the development of new treatment options for MS. This is an opportunity to commence or further develop an independent research career whilst maintaining your clinical registration.

Key Accountabilities:

• Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
• Undertake high-quality research of national and international standing.
• Make a high-level contribution to the research, development, and reporting of clinical trials.
• Undertake clinical and neurological assessments and interventions.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links.
• Contribute to the development of the MS Research Flagship

Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;

• A medical practitioner registration with APRHA or registerable with APHRA in Australia of good standing.
• Demonstrated ability and understanding of research in a relevant field.
• Excellent oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build and maintain effective collaborations within a multidisciplinary team.
• Expertise in the management of complex datasets, statistical analysis and translating evidence into practice.

Remuneration

Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level A, or Academic Level B (commensurate with post graduate qualifications and/or experience) and will have a total remuneration package of; Level A (MD) up to $108,706 comprising base salary within the range of $71,443 to $92,373 plus 17% superannuation or Level B (MD & PhD) up to $133,842 comprising base salary within the range of $98,537 to $114,395, plus 17% superannuation. In addition, a Clinical Loading may be applicable for the preferred candidate.
