The Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences is a thriving centre of learning, teaching and research in a vast range of engineering disciplines, computer science - including machine learning, high-level mathematics and architecture, planning and landscape architecture. Many of its academic staff are world leaders in their fields and graduates are highly regarded by employers.

The Director of the Technology Education Centre (TEC) is an academic leadership role within the Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences (ECMS) at the University of Adelaide. ECMS educates the STEM professionals of the future and delivers excellent stakeholder-connected research.

The Director of the TEC will lead the Centre’s evolution, building its capacity and consolidating its role in the delivery of outstanding cross-disciplinary, industry-focussed technology education. This exciting opportunity will enable you to lead the continued enhancement and expansion of the Centre’s educational offerings through a rigorous and scholarly approach, in which activities are continuously evaluated, benchmarked and enhanced with reference to educational theory and best practices.

Your extensive knowledge and experience will be paramount in developing a culture of excellence in technology teaching that brings together staff from across disciplines to deliver outstanding learning opportunities.

This position comes at a crucial and very exciting time for the Faculty and University with new strategic priorities identified in the strategic pillar of 21st Century Education for a Growing Community of Learners, in the University’s strategic plan “Future Making.”

This five year fixed term appointment to the role of Director of TEC, with an underlying continuing position at Level D/E within the relevant School on completion of the initial term, is available immediately. An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
