Duties and Responsibilities

The International Brain Laboratory is a transformational new collaborative scientific research project, spanning 20 neuroscience laboratories across Europe and North America. These laboratories are working together to solve one of science’s greatest challenges, how the brain works together to make a decision. This ambitious project will involve recording the activity of hundreds of thousands of neurons in the working brain, and building mathematical models of the resulting data, harnessing the close coordination of world-leading experimental and theoretical scientists.

The candidate will be expected to develop a strategic vision for the International Brain Laboratory, and create and implement a long-term strategic plan for realizing this vision. They will establish and oversee a programme of work, including defining objectives, assigning tasks and ensuring their completion.  The candidate will ensure delivery of key milestones by working collaboratively with the various partners and other stakeholders and manage senior staff for the International Brain Laboratory, including the Senior Scientific Programmer (Grade 10) and Data Coordinator (Grade 9)

Key Requirements

Undergraduate degree in neuroscience, biology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, a related discipline.

A PhD in neuroscience, biology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related discipline would be desirable as would an MBA degree, PMP certification, or other management qualification.
