Faculty Position in Kinesiology and Health Education

Description

The Health Behavior & Health Education area, part of the Department of Kinesiology & Health Education in the College of Education at the University of Texas at Austin, seeks to hire a full-time professional track faculty member to teach undergraduate and graduate courses. All courses relate to health behavior, health promotion, and health education. Courses may include introduction to health promotion, foundations in epidemiology, theories of health and social behavior, social determinants of health, research methods and evaluation, needs assessment, program planning, child and adolescent health, and human sexuality, among others.

 

The faculty member will be expected to teach four courses per semester in the 2024-2025 academic year. This is a non-tenure track, year-long position. The position is contingent upon student enrollment. Re-appointment for this position beyond the 2024-2025 academic year may be possible depending on performance and availability of funding. Salary and title are dependent upon responsibilities and qualifications.

Qualifications

A PhD in Public Health, Health Behavior, Health Promotion, or related field is required. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and a student-centered approach to teaching.
