Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Carolina), established in 1793 as the first public university in the nation, is a doctoral-granting institution situated in the beautiful college town of Chapel Hill, NC. The School boasts one of the first School Psychology programs, which was established in 1966. The program offers a Ph.D. in School Psychology and is both NASP and APA accredited.

The School of Education is an academic unit reporting to the Provost. The School is a major center of research, teaching, and public service within the State of North Carolina, the nation, and the world. The School offers a full range of undergraduate and graduate programs. The mission of the School of Education is to conduct research, and generate basic and applied knowledge about human development, educational technology and entrepreneurship, teaching and learning, school counseling, school psychology, administration, as well as educational policy and leadership; prepare leaders in the profession of education by conducting outstanding research, teaching, and service; and assist in the development of strong and effective public schools in North Carolina. In order to fulfill its mission, the School is organized into three academic divisions: (1) Culture, Curriculum, & Teacher Education (CCATE), (2) Learning, Development & Psychological Sciences (LDPS), and (3) Educational Policy, Organization, & Leadership (EPOL).
Position Summary
The School of Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a position in School Psychology starting July 1, 2023. This is a full-time, 9-month tenure-line or tenured appointment depending on rank at the time of hire.

Candidates will carry out a research program, actively pursue external funding, and contribute to collaborative and interdisciplinary efforts across the School of Education and campus. Candidates also will (a) develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in school psychology and related areas delivered in face-to-face, online, and/or blended formats, as well as supervise school psychology interns; (b) support strategic initiatives across the School and campus; © contribute to the ongoing development of undergraduate and graduate programs; (d) actively recruit and supervise undergraduate and graduate students; and (e) provide leadership and service at the local, state, and national levels.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Candidates must hold a doctorate in school psychology or a closely related field (e.g., child clinical psychology, counseling psychology) earned from an APA accredited program.

Candidates at the assistant professor level must have an earned doctorate at the time of hire. Candidates at the associate and full levels must have an established record of research, funding, teaching, and service to meet the University’s requirements for tenure and appointment at the respective rank. Depending on rank, candidates will demonstrate a research program that will lead to an outstanding and sustained record of scholarship and securing external funding or will already have such an established record. Candidates will have strong potential, or an established record, of outstanding university teaching and guiding students through dissertation research projects. Candidates must be eligible for licensure as a psychologist in North Carolina.
