Full Professor of Sensor Systems

 

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of a Full Professor of »Sensor Systems« to begin in winter semester 2020/21. The position is a tenured W3 position.

 

Scientific environment

 

The professorship belongs to the TUM Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Together with further professorships it shall build up a focus area for Sensors and Sensor Systems and strengthen TUM’s expertise in this field. Connections to a variety of the department’s professorships will embed the new professorship into the department’s structure.

 

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of Sensor Systems with a focus on at least one of the following areas of expertise: design, architecture, modeling and prototype application of sensor or distributed multi-sensor systems and related electronics. The teaching load includes courses in the university’s bachelor and master.

 

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with high international reputation who has demonstrated an outstanding academic record and an internationally recognized research program. We expect the candidate to continuously develop both, science and teaching in the subject area with a trend-setting and future-oriented research strategy. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification as well as pedagogical aptitude, including the ability to teach in English, are also prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected.
