The applicant should specialize at least one of the following fields: (1) GeoAI; (2) Geo-Computing; (3) Computational Social Science; or, (4) Geographic Information Science related research.

Qualifications

The applicant must have a Ph.D. degree in geography, surveying, information science or related disciplines.

Please refer to Article 7, Article 8 of the Organization Regulations of the Research Institutes of Academia Sinica (https://www.sinica.edu.tw/CP/420) for the qualifications for Full, Associate and Assistant Research fellows.

Required Documents

Applicants for positions should submit the following documents:

(1)application form (Which can be download from https://hro.sinica.edu.tw/pages/895);

(2)curriculum vitae (In addition to basic information, please describe in detail your academic and other work experience);

(3)a statement of research accomplishments and research plan;

(4)a photocopy of the doctoral degree certificate (If the doctoral degree certificate is not in Chinese, please provide a copy of the Chinese translation verified by the Taiwan Embassy abroad.);

(5)proofs for appointments in Taiwanese or international academic institutes;

(6)a list of publications in recent 5 years (The form can be download from https://hro.sinica.edu.tw/pages/895);

(7)the representative publications; and,

(8)three letters of recommendation. These letters can be written in either Chinese or English and can be sent in either hard copy or as email attachments. If sending hard copy recommendation letters, please have the recommender send them directly to Dr. Ta-Chien Chan, the Executive Director of Center for GIS.

The 6 copies of application should be sent to Center for GIS, RCHSS, Academia Sinica (Address: 128 Academia Rd., Sec. 2, Nangang District, Taipei 115201, Taiwan, R.O.C.). Please note "Application for full-time faculty" on the envelope.
