Full-Time Researcher in the Department of Mathematics

Tasks

As part of a collaboration between the Operational Directorate General Roads and Buildings - DG01 of the Public Service of Wallonia and the Research Institute naXys, the latter hires a full-time researcher to ensure research work within the framework of the project "Research and Development for the development of statistical tools, the processing of road data and the optimization of algorithms for the use of weighing stations in operation" (OPTIDATA).

In particular,

• The development of algorithms filtering data from piezoelectric weighing systems (elimination of outliers);

• Optimization of signal processing processes from piezoelectric sensors;

• Definition of criteria for better weighing tests with heavy vehicles;

• The exploitation of data collected by statistical analysis and modeling;

• The calculation of precision classes according to OIML R134 recommendations, COST 323 and / or ASTM E1318;

• The writing of reports, articles or scientific posters on the work carried out and their presentation at national and international conferences.

Profile

Those who will apply:

• hold a master's degree in mathematical sciences or a recognized master's degree equivaled by the selection committee,

• will have skills in modeling, model analysis, statistical data analysis and programming.

The successful candidate will:

• collaborate with SPW partners and legal metrology organizations (OIML, METAS, NMI, LNE, ...),

• participate in R & D partnerships contracted with private firms by the SPW.
