About the Position

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University announces a selection procedure for the position of Instructor or Assistant Professor at the First Department of Internal Medicine – Cardioangiology.

The First Department of Internal Medicine – Cardioangiology is a joint workplace of the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University and St. Anne’s University Hospital in Brno. In addition to medical activities, the department carries out educational, scientific and research activities. In the field of education, it provides mainly practical training in medical and other health disciplines.

Scope of Work

Instructor

Participation in theoretical and practical teaching at the workplace.
Preparation of study and teaching materials.
Involvement in research and development activities, including the publication and presentation of research results.
Participation in the organizational support of research and teaching activities, including related administration.

Assistant Professor

Participation in theoretical and practical teaching at the workplace.
Preparation of study and teaching materials.
Membership in commissions for state final examinations.
Participation in the education of doctoral students.
Independent research and development activities, including the publication and presentation of research results.
Participation in the organizational support of research and teaching activities, including related administration.

Required Qualifications

Completed university education in the medical field (MD), or equivalent education attained abroad.
For the Assistant Professor position: Completed doctoral education or a specialized qualification in accordance with Act No. 95/2004 Coll. (doctors, dentists and pharmacists), or Act No. 96/2004 Coll. (non-medical health professions).
Professional experience in the relevant field and teaching experience.
Capability of independent professional and research work, including publishing activities.
Capability to actively participate in an international conference or professional seminar.
Fluent English (spoken and written).
Fluent Czech (spoken and written).
Active approach, initiative and willingness for further education.
Moral integrity.

A prerequisite for appointment to the position of Assistant Professor is an employment relationship with the relevant hospital.
