The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a full-time Instructor in Interpreting (Arabic/English and vice versa). The successful candidate will join a dynamic academic environment committed to excellence in teaching and student development. The instructor will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in interpreting, with a focus on Arabic-English and English-Arabic language pairs. The candidate is expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality teaching, active student engagement, and academic advising. Key Responsibilities: • Teach undergraduate courses in interpreting (Arabic/English and vice versa). • Advise and mentor undergraduate students. • Select and prepare appropriate teaching and learning resources. • Plan and deliver well-organized, effective instructional sessions. • Demonstrate sensitivity to students’ interests, diverse cultural backgrounds, and learning needs. • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous program improvement. Qualifications: • A relevant postgraduate degree in Translation, Interpreting, Applied Linguistics, or a related field. • Demonstrated experience in teaching consecutive and simultaneous interpreting. • Native or near-native proficiency in both Arabic and English. • Strong communication and organizational skills. • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. • Professional experience as an interpreter is an advantage.
