Pay Range: $1,500 - $1,700 per credit hour
Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months’ salary unless otherwise specified.

The SULA Program within the College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks a Part-Time Instructor to teach CAR 500.3 Special Topics in Animation: Unreal Engine, a one-credit hour course, during the Fall semester, 2025. This is a five-week course offered as part of the VPA LA Semester.
This course will explore the fundamentals of Unreal Engine and its usage in visual productions, animation, and architecture. It is an introductory course with a small course assignment to explore how students can incorporate Unreal Engine into their professional work.
The VPA LA Semester is an immersive professional development program that provides students with a unique opportunity to work as interns in Los Angeles while taking academic courses taught by industry professionals.

Bachelor’s degree required.
Career in animation or virtual production with a strong skill and understanding in Unreal Engine.
Create the syllabus for the 1 credit course, class assignment and student outcomes, and grading rubric.
In addition:
Preparation of lectures, projects, or other student assignments.
Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
Meeting all designated class periods.
If you are unable to meet your class due to illness or emergency, you should exercise your best effort to reschedule the class or to obtain a substitute.
Notify the department chair of your absence and plan to cover the class.
Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
