Job Description

The department of Media and Creative Industries at UAEU is seeking to make appointment for a full-time faculty at the instructor level. We seek a candidate with professional experience in broadcast production including reporting and presentation, and with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. The department offers a BA major in Mass Communication with concentration in Television and Radio. Range of courses taught in the concentration include media production and presentation as well as digital story-telling, preparing students for careers across the media industries. The successful candidate will contribute to an evolving media curriculum and take active part in preparing students for careers in a changing and converging media landscape.

Minimum Qualification

Applicants must have an earned MA in the applicable field. While commitment to teaching undergraduate courses is a must, industrial and professional experience Television and or Radio broadcasting is a PLUS.

Preferred Qualification

In addition to demonstrated professional experience in television and or radio, the candidate will be required to teach theoretical courses at the introductory levels. We will also require evidence of strong technical proficiency with industry-standard production tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Avid, Pro Tools, broadcast audio/video equipment, studio and field production gear). Experience in areas such as podcasting, multimedia journalism, digital video production, scriptwriting will be added advantage.
