The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Rutgers University-Newark seeks a part-time instructor to teach Sociology and/or Anthropology of Mental Health and Illness online.
Responsibilities include:
Preparing course materials and posting a course syllabus
Teaching online course sessions
Holding office hours and providing out-of-class support
Responding to student emails
Conducting and grading assessments (assignments, exams, etc.)
Submitting final grades on time
Special Instruction:
Include a syllabus for a previously taught course uploaded under “Other Documents”
Minimum Education & Experience:
Ph.D. or terminal degree strongly preferred
Skills & Abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to teach at the university level highly desired
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience teaching sociology or anthropology
Salary: Minimum of $2,777 per credit
Salary determined by qualifications, experience, department/grant funds, market benchmarks, and internal equity
