The Department of Computer Science in the College of Arts & Sciences at University of South Dakota invites applications for a full-time instructor. A master’s degree in computer science or related field is required, with a Ph.D. preferred. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate computer science courses, both face-to-face and online, and will assist with advising and other departmental service activities. The qualified candidate will have strong computer programming and problem-solving skills and experience in the Java language. This position is a nine month, full-time, term position that is renewable based on performance. The appointment will begin August 2019.


The Department of Computer Science offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Computer Science to approximately 100 students in a stimulating intellectual environment. The department has an excellent reputation in research and teaching, and the undergraduate Computer Science program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET.
