Junior Lecturer in Molecular Biology

Duties and responsibilities
  • To organize and carry out practical courses, seminars and lectures in Molecular Biology for students of Science and Technology and Bioengineering.
  • Research in the volume equivalent to at least 1/3 doctoral thesis in five years.

Required qualifications
Master's degree or an equivalent qualification.

Required experience
  • Experience in teaching Molecular Biology to Science and Technology and Bioengineering at the university level equivalent to at least two years of the position of an assistant.
  • Experience in supervising students and teaching e-courses is recommended.
  • International-level research in the specialisation, the volume of which is equivalent to at least one Master thesis.

Required language skills
Very good knowledge of English in speech and writing, including sufficient skills for communication and writing in his or her specialty. According to the Language Act, academic staff with foreign citizenship working in Estonia must have acquired at least B1-level Estonian language skills after five years of work. This requirement will be added to the contract. The Centre for Professional Development offers foreigners and their family members the opportunity to participate in Estonian courses.
