Penn State Erie, The Behrend College is seeking applications for a two-year, full-time, non-tenure track, renewable faculty position in media production starting Fall 2020 in the communication program at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. Minimum education required: master’s degree in a relevant discipline. Appointment is for lecturer level if degree is not terminal; as assistant teaching professor for terminal degree. The position involves teaching media production (radio, television, film and new media) and electronic news gathering. Teaching other communication courses is possible. The position also oversees a student-run multimedia service, www.wintergreenmedia.org, manages our audio/visual equipment, and provides faculty supervision for our internet radio station, BVZ, and our broadcast studio, PSB-TV. Responsibilities also include conducting research, scholarship, or creative activity. At least two semesters of college teaching and at least one year of production experience are required. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate skills as a student advisor, mentor, and recruiter for the major.
