The Chemistry Department is seeking a part-time instructor to teach CHE 106: General Chemistry Lecture I for the Fall 2025 semester. This course covers the fundamental principles and laws underlying chemical action, states of matter, atomic and molecular structure, chemical bonding, stoichiometry, properties of solutions, chemical equilibria, and introductory thermochemistry.
The lecture meets in-person each Monday & Wednesday 5:15–6:35 PM.
Instructors will be supported with syllabus templates, exam preparation assistance, and logistical support from office staff.

Required: Ph.D. or working towards a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field.
Job Specific:
Strong understanding of general chemistry
Previous experience teaching chemistry
Develop and/or update class syllabus
Prepare lectures, projects, and student assignments
Maintain regularly scheduled office hours
Present instruction aligned with course competencies and performance levels
Meet all designated class periods
Submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations
Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner
Provide departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations
Build a positive rapport with students and other faculty
