Lecturer in Counseling and Human Development

The Department of Counseling and Human Development is seeking candidates for a full time, nine month Lecturer position. This position is 100% instructional and is a non-tenure track position. SDSU is especially interested in candidates who can provide leadership for delivery of the nationally accredited graduate program in Counseling at the branch location in Rapid City, South Dakota. RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as the main contact for students at the branch location of the CHRD Program in Rapid City; 
• Provide Department Head with regular updates regarding compliance with accreditation standards as well as department, college, and university policies and procedures;
• Support college and department initiatives;
• Supervise adjunct faculty; 
• Teach a variety of graduate courses in a CACREP-approved master’s level program;
• Provide service on departmental committees and to the community;
• Conduct research and scholarship.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
 The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in the area of Counselor Education by August 2019 or an equivalent doctorate plus one year full-time in a CACREP accredited counseling program prior to the 2012-2013 school year;
 Eligibility for licensure and/or certification; 
 Demonstrated ability serving as an academic leader and teaching core counseling courses; 
 Knowledge of CACREP standards; 
 Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; 
 The ability/willingness to work collaboratively; 
 A commitment to equality and diversity.

 Demonstrated commitment to work in interdisciplinary and inclusive settings;
 Demonstrated commitment for collaboration with minority groups in the state of South Dakota.
