Position description

The Department of English at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for part-time lecturer positions to teach undergraduate courses included in the English Department's Creative Writing Minor. Courses may include 1) English 16 The Craft of Poetry 2) Writing 30 The Art of Writing: Poetry 3) Writing 31 The Art of Writing: Prose Fiction 4) Writing 90 Intermediate Poetry Writing, during the fall, winter and spring quarters of the 2021-2022 academic year. The full-time teaching load in the School of Humanities is eight courses per year; the annual full-time salary is $56,381.00, and the salary per course is $7,047.63.

Requirement - Applicants must have the PhD. in English or an MFA in English in hand by June 30, 2021. Three years of university level teaching experience in English is preferred.

Fall 2021
9/20/21 - 12/10/21

Winter 2022
1/3/22 - 3/18/22

Spring 2022
3/23/22 - 6/10/22
