About This Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Lecturer to engage in undergraduate teaching within Developmental Psychology.

Offering the opportunity to grow your profile across teaching, research, and service and engagement, duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to the development of new programs and course material in developmental psychology.
  • Coordinate courses, prepare and deliver lectures and tutorials, and undertake assessment and marking for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
  • Contribute to the supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students.
  • Maintain and improve the quality of courses as measured through evaluation instruments to meet industry and educational standards.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

Alongside the completion of a PhD in the discipline area of developmental psychology or related discipline, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A growing profile in teaching and research in the discipline area.
  • A track record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presentations at conferences.
  • Evidence of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing research funding.
  • Evidence of a high quality teaching across a variety of settings, including small and large groups.
  • Experience in course coordination and contribution to the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and/or course material in the discipline area.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed-term (ending 31/12/2023) position at Academic level B.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $97,590 - $115,888 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be $114,180 - $135,588 p.a.).
