About the Role
The School of Education at UCC is seeking a Lecturer (Below the Bar) to contribute to:
-
Teaching, assessment, and school placement supervision in undergraduate and postgraduate Initial Teacher Education programs.
-
Programme development and administration in the areas of Literacy, Numeracy, and Inclusion.
-
Research and scholarly activities with a social justice orientation in the field of education.
-
Pastoral support for education students, particularly focusing on diversifying the teaching workforce.
-
Engagement with community links and contributions to UCC academic life.
This role combines teaching, research, pastoral care, and administrative responsibilities within a dynamic and research-active School of Education.
Essential Qualifications & Experience

Doctorate (PhD) in History, Sociology, Psychology, or Philosophy of Education.

Knowledge of the Irish education sector.

Experience in providing pastoral support to students.

Evidence of research expertise in the discipline of education.

Ability to contribute to teaching, school placements, and postgraduate supervision.
Additional desirable qualities:

Experience in social justice-oriented education.

Contribution to program development and community engagement.
