We seek a highly motivated young scientist with goals and ideas for independent research that complements and expands the current research at the Chair of Environmental Hydrological Systems. Analysis und modelling of hydrological systems under global change are specifically of interest. Hydrological system boundaries may include the climate system, ecosystems, human systems (incl. risk or water resources management) among others. We expect an active involvement in the activities of the chair group. Teaching duties are 4 SWS (ca. 2 courses or one course with practical component per term and advising of Bachelor and Master theses) primarily within the BSc Environmental Sciences (minor: environmental hydrology) and the MSc Hydrology.

Prerequisites for the position are a university degree in hydrology, environmental sciences, geosciences, geoecology or related disciplines. Applicants are expected to have a qualified doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) and demonstrated high-level publications in hydrology or environmental science and preferably some postdoctoral experience. Excellent English is a must; German will be required for daily life and teaching of undergraduate courses in German will be expected after ca. one year. Candidates are expected to be independent, flexible, willing and able to work in a team, and should have demonstrated organisational skills. Civil servant requirements must be fulfilled. The salary will be determined in accordance with A13.
