The Department of Romance Languages invites applications for a full-time, one-year appointment (non-tenure-track) as Lecturer to teach French language (all levels) and French and Francophone cultures in an undergraduate program committed to dynamic instruction and innovative pedagogy. Start date is July 1, 2021. Possibility of annual renewal for up to an additional two years, contingent upon satisfactory performance and approval of the Dean. The position includes a teaching load of 5 courses and responsibility for course coordination.  Required qualifications:  Master’s degree required, PhD preferred.  Native or near-native linguistic ability in both French and English. Excellent teaching credentials, with at least two years’ experience teaching languages and culture-based courses at the university level using recent classroom technologies. Demonstrated ability to teach introductory courses in Business French welcome; experience or interest in coordinating lower-level language courses.

Include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a one-page statement of teaching philosophy, and the names and contact information of three recommenders. One of the recommenders must be a teaching supervisor. The University will contact them directly with instructions on how to submit their letters.
