Lecturer / Tenure Track Assistant Lecturer for Health Psychology

The Institute of Psychology of the University of Bern is looking to hire a Lecturer / Tenure Track Assistant Lecturer for Health Psychology as from 1 July 2022. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching and research in health psychology in their area of specialization, preferably stress and coping with illness, or methodological development.

  • Teach bachelor's and master's level courses (approx. three per semester) in health psychology
  • Conduct independent research in health psychology, preferably in the area of stress and coping with illness, or methodological development
  • Supervise theses at bachelor and master level, and potentially doctoral students
  • Contribute to self-governance and administration
Your Profile
  • PhD, preferably in health psychology or social psychology
  • An aptitude for teaching and teaching experience
  • Eminent expertise of health psychology (incl. active research and publications)
  • Very good language skills in English

  • If appointed as assistant lecturer, the position is limited to three years with option of tenure to permanent lecturer position (80%) after successful evaluation
  • Salary in accordance with cantonal regulations
