Position Description

The Division of Politics, Philosophy and Public Affairs at the University of Washington Tacoma is hiring a temporary full-time lecturer in international law and policy for the 2019-20 academic year. This is a nine-month non-renewable position beginning mid-September 2019 that requires teaching seven courses over three quarters (with 3-4 different courses) and is contingent on funding.  This is also a non-tenure track position.

The classes will be a combination of lower-level introductory courses (such as Introduction to International Organizations or International Human Rights) and upper-level elective courses (such as International Law), with the schedule to be determined collaboratively in consideration of the candidate’s expertise and Division needs.



Compensation is competitive with that of comparable positions and includes health insurance and retirement benefits.

Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion in their pedagogy.
